Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 9, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data RecoverHelper (“we”) collects when you use the RecoverHelper software (“Software”) or visit recoverhelper.com (“Site”), why we collect it, and what your rights are.

1. Data we collect

1.1 On the Site

Standard server access logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) are kept for security and abuse prevention. We do not use third-party advertising or behavioral tracking cookies on the Site.

1.2 In the Software

For Pro users, the Software contacts our license server to verify your license. The verification request includes:

We log the verification result, the requesting IP address, and the user agent for fraud prevention. Files you scan and recover never leave your computer.

1.3 At purchase

Purchases are processed by our Merchant of Record, Lemon Squeezy. Lemon Squeezy collects billing information (name, email, billing country, payment instrument details) and provides us with the order ID, customer email, and order metadata required to issue your license. We do not receive your full payment card number.

2. Why we use it

3. Legal bases (GDPR)

We rely on the following legal bases: contract performance (delivering the Software and license), legitimate interest (security, fraud prevention, product improvement), and legal obligation (tax and accounting records).

4. Sharing

We share data only with: (a) Lemon Squeezy, our payments provider; (b) email-delivery providers used to send your license key and important service messages; (c) infrastructure providers hosting the Site and the license server; (d) legal authorities where required by law.

5. Retention

We retain license records for the lifetime of the license and for the periods required by tax and accounting laws (typically up to 7 years). Server access logs are kept for up to 90 days unless required longer for an active investigation.

6. Your rights

Subject to your local law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, object to processing, or request data portability. To exercise these rights, email support@recoverhelper.com. Note that deleting an active license record will terminate the license.

7. International transfers

Our infrastructure providers may process data outside your country of residence. Where applicable, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.

8. Children

The Software and Site are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
